The UNLV Foundation Annual Dinner - Celebrating the sprit of philanthropy
Bob Boughner

Bob Boughner

Bob Boughner is a proud UNLV alumnus and retired executive of Boyd Gaming Corporation. In his role with Boyd Gaming, Bob oversaw new business development efforts, including expansion into new and existing markets; building corporate relationships and alliances; and pursuing new business opportunities. He also served as president of Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa in Atlantic City, N.J.

A single quote captures Bob’s approach to his professional and personal life: “Real joy comes not from the ease of riches nor the praise of men, but from doing something worthwhile.” It is a philosophy that guided him over the course of his career, as he consistently sought to have a positive and lasting impact on the community of Las Vegas.

Bob remembers the interactions he had with hospitality and gaming executives while he was a student at UNLV, and made giving back to the university an important personal priority. In fact, his generosity helped establish the Bob Boughner Career Services Center in the William F. Harrah College of Hospitality in 2007, providing guidance to thousands of students in pursuit of careers in the hospitality, tourism and gaming industry.

Bob has been active in a variety of civic and business organizations throughout the Las Vegas Valley, including serving on the executive committee of the Nevada Development Authority, as well as the Board of Directors of the Bank of Nevada, Southwest Gas Corporation and Boyd Gaming Corporation, the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, and the New Jersey Casino Reinvestment Development Authority.
