Rob Roy
Rob Roy is CEO and founder of Switch, developer of the world-renowned SUPERNAP data centers. SUPERNAP data centers are recognized among the world’s leaders in data center ecosystem design, development, and mission critical operations.
Since founding Switch, the inventor and entrepreneur has transformed the way data center ecosystems are engineered and utilized. As the chief inventor and designer of SUPERNAP facilities and their technology solutions platforms, Rob is widely considered the data center industry’s most successful technology entrepreneur.
Rob is committed to paying forward the success of Switch. In 2012, he created The Innevation Center, a 65,000-square-foot entrepreneurial hub, as a philanthropic effort to support economic diversification and foster collaboration between Nevada businesses and the community. Additionally, he is a member of the Governor’s Office of Economic Development.
The Stella and Rob Roy Foundation is also making a difference. The Roys were founding members of The Smith Center for the Performing Arts, and they received the “Philanthropy Award” from St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
Rob has served as a Trustee of the UNLV Foundation. He was also instrumental in providing UNLV with access to the Intel “Cherry Creek II” supercomputer, housed at Switch’s SUPERNAP data center, and connecting UNLV to SUPERNAP’s unique connectivity network. With his outstanding philanthropic contributions, Rob accelerated academic and scientific innovation at UNLV, and advanced economic development in Las Vegas and Southern Nevada.
