The UNLV Foundation Annual Dinner - Celebrating the sprit of philanthropy

Jon E. Cobain

In 1964, the late Jon E. Cobain made history as the first graduate of UNLV. He served as student body president and led by example through his lifelong leadership and service. Cobain was the first in his family to receive a college degree, which inspired him to establish a scholarship in Lee Business School for first-generation students. He also supported University Libraries, Black Mountain Institute, KUNV Radio, and other programs across campus. His philanthropy reflected his deep belief in equitable access to education and his determination to provide opportunities for students in need.
